IE8 vs seedee 0:1
Jun. 1st, 2009 02:56 amBefore going on my very much deserved holiday tomorrow (I'll return on the 12th in case anyone needs to know that), I want to share the awesomeness of the nomerge option. Maybe one of you has recently updated to IE8 and will find this useful.
I got a new computer this week (woot!) and instead of IE7, I'm having IE8 now. It's actually pretty cool, but one thing was driving me nuts. In IE7 you were able to have different login sessions (e.g. lj) in different windows. Everyone who rps will know that you need those multiple logins.
Obviously Microsoft decided that this is not a feature but a bug and got rid of it in IE8. There's an easy workaround, though:
1. Right click on icon you use to open IE8 (if you use more than one, repeat the whole thing with each of them)
2. Select properties from the pop-up menue
3. Click on the tab 'shortcut'
4. Find the field 'Target' and add '-nomerge' at the end. (It looks like that for me: ["C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nomerge])
5. Done
