I need a break from angsty fic that got too long.

Anyone want a drabble/ficlet?

Answer with character or pairing, prompt and a number between 1 and 300 for the wordcount.

Anything goes in HP/SPN/Torchwood/True Blood/Original.

*smooches back*

***

Oh, how Neville hated them – not the trees themselves, of course, they were as lovely as Whispering Willows could be. The leaves were his problem.

He raked stubbornly until he had a small hill full of brown leaves. Those still on the trees were beautiful – orange, yellow, some bright red – but those on the ground were withered and uttered pitiful sighs. Therefore they had to go – without magic, naturally, as that would disturb the sensitive trees.

"It would be so much easier if you weren't so touchy," he muttered. "Just a tiny spell."

Neville growled in frustration as a gush of wind made more leaves fall and blew the top off his hard-earned hill.

The sun wasn't as strong as it had been two months ago, but it was warm enough to make sweat run down his back and chest. He took off his shirt, throwing it to the side with more force than necessary, then took up the rake again. The muscles of his arms bunched, those of his back rippled as he continued to work.

"Good thing you're pretty," he told the trees. "I hope you appreciate what I'm doing here."

"Well, if they don't, I certainly do," came the amused reply from behind him.

Neville turned around, wishing he'd not taken off his shirt. "Ginny," he said awkwardly. "What are you doing here?"

"Appreciating the view, of course," she said, smiling that mischievous smile of hers and coming closer.

"Pretty." Neville barked the word at her and took a step backwards. "The trees are," he clarified.

Ginny laughed – a happy sound that made his stomach flutter. "There are trees? Must have missed them," she said, very close now, trailing her fingers up his arm.

Maybe autumn leaves weren't that bad after all.

I so often forget how lovely Neville is. Sometimes I have to remind myself that he deserves some appreciation.

That was the second time I wrote Neville and both times were for you. So thank you, because I really like him.
